Project SAFE
|
Our goal is to communicate on a very open level around depression, suicide awareness and education; striving to remove the stigma from the word 'depression.' This disease affects every individual differently - there is no prescriptive fix for everyone. We will not be able to stop suicide, but we hope to give individuals contemplating suicide an opportunity to live one more day, week, month, year or lifetime.
We are honored to bring our local community wonderful events, resources, and more. We here at Project SAFE of the Cedar River Corridor Area aim to inform everyone in our community about the local resources for mental health and suicide prevention. With our events, our resources, and more, we not only start our mission of ending the stigma around depression and suicide, but we are starting a much needed open dialogue on these issues and what we can do to help. |

In Memory of Garrett Ronald Farr
"Garrett Ronald Farr, my son, lost his battle with depression on September 22, 2017. I could tell you it was the hardest day of my life, but I would be lying. The next most difficult day of my life was his visitation. The next one was his funeral. The next was his 18th birthday. The next is every day afterwards. It does not get easier when you have a loss like this, but you see bright spots in the lives you touch every day. That is all part of the healing." - Michael Gerard Farr
